🎬 Season 1, Episode 8 - "The Arrival"

 "The Arrival"

That night, I slept like a baby.

No nightmares. No visions. Just peace.

As if a thick, dark cloud had lifted from my subconscious. When I woke, the morning sun poured into my room through the half-drawn curtains. I felt light almost too light as though I had shed something... or someone.

Then I saw it. A message on my phone.

Axel.

"Hello Baeb, I trust you had the sweetest sleep and a nice dream.🥰 Did you dream about me? Because I did, and it was awesome. Wishing I never woke up again."

I laughed silently. My fingers hovered above the keypad. Somehow, it all felt innocent again, as though the strange dreams, the odd behavior, the mystery of his “parents”… never happened.

“Yes, I did. But when are you coming back?”

His response was instant.

“This weekend. Expect me at home.”

That word. Home. It danced in my chest like a warm melody.

I convinced myself, I was just overthinking things. The dreams were probably psychological projections. Trauma from my last relationship, maybe. The mind plays tricks, right?

I was in love.

I needed him to say the words aloud, to hold me again, to make everything make sense. I told myself, He will. Soon.

The weekend finally came.

It was a Saturday. The weather was perfect, not too sunny, not cloudy; just warm enough to make you want to open the windows and let the breeze kiss your skin.

Then… my phone rang.

Axel.

“I’m home.”

I felt my heart bounce against my ribs. My hands trembled, not with fear, but anticipation.

“Come out, I’m at your gate.”

I grabbed my silk gown and headed out. And there he was, leaning casually against the same G-Wagon. But something felt… off.

He looked different. Still handsome, irresistibly so, but paler. A strange gleam in his eyes like he hadn’t slept in days or had seen something… unnatural.

I didn’t care. I ran into his arms.

We hugged tightly. His body was warm, but his hands felt ice cold. I noticed, but again I brushed it off. Love is blind, right?

He looked at me deeply. “You missed me,” he said.

I nodded, unable to speak, you get that girlish flex🥴. Then his eyes scanned the area.

“Can we go inside?” His voice lowered.

“Sure.” I led the way.

We sat in the living room. Everything was still. The ticking clock sounded louder than usual. Even the air felt heavier.

We were talking, laughing until a strange scent filled the room. Like burnt herbs and sea salt.

He looked at me and smiled. “Do you believe in fate?”

The question caught me off guard.

“Why?”

“Because it brought me to you… and there’s no going back now.”

The words, though sweet, sent a chill down my spine. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, carved wooden trinket, an ancient symbol I couldn't recognize.

“Keep this,” he said. “It’ll keep you safe… until the veil lifts.”

I laughed nervously. “What veil?”

He didn’t answer, in a while he said on our wedding day. He just kissed my forehead.

As he stood to leave, he said, “I’ll see you in your dreams, Baeb.”

That night, I held the trinket tightly in my hand as I slept.

And once again… the dream returned.

But this time, I wasn’t the bride. I was standing beside Axel, holding a rod like the woman did before. And people… were bowing to us.

To be continued...
